Canada's food watchdog is warning consumers with allergies to milk to avoid Vintage Plantations Soy Milk Chocolate Bars.
The bars, made in Ecuador, contain milk protein not listed on their label, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency said Thursday.
The recall affects bars sold in 100 g packages with the UPC code 7 97148 00039 8.
The chocolate bars were sold in Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia, Alberta and B.C. and may have been distributed in other areas of the country. One associated illness has been reported in the U.S.
Consumers with questions can call the CFIA, which is monitoring the recall, at 1-800-442-2342.
