6,000 ladder stands recalled from marketplace

Michigan-based Gorilla Inc. is recalling about 6,000 Kong Maxx ladder stands because they become unstable, causing the user to fall.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Friday the company has learned of two incidents of consumers falling from the ladder stands. Consumers reported injuries to the back and knee.

The recall applies to ladder stands with the model number 43032 with the batch numbers G051507, G051507D, G061507D, G071507D, and G081507D sold through Gander Mountain stores in the U.S. from July 2007 through September 2007 for about $180 US each.

Consumers should stop using the stands and contact the company for a refund.
