193,000 Timberland steel toe boots recalled

The New Hampshire-based Timberland Company is recalling about 193,000 steel toe boots because they fail to protect against compression and impact, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Tuesday.

No associated injuries have been reported.

The recall affects the Timberland PRO Direct Attach steel toe boots with the model numbers 26002, 65016, 26038, 38021.

Direct Attach steel toe boots made in China are not affected by the recall.

The boots were sold in stores in the U.S. from September 2005 through September 2007 for between $90 US and $115 US.

Consumers should stop wearing the boots and contact the company for a replacement pair.
