Recreational Equipment Inc. recalls children's trailer bicycles
- September 19, 2007 12:50 PM
- By Peter Hadzipetros
About 5,200 Novara Afterburner trailer bicycles are being withdrawn because they pose a fall hazard, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Tuesday.
The children's bikes can detach from the adult bicycle, the CPSC said. The distributor, Washington-based Recreational Equipment Inc., has learned of one incident in which the trailer bike became unfastened from the lead bike. No injuries were reported.
The bikes were sold in REI stores in the U.S. from February 2007 through June 2007 for about $160 US.
Consumers should stop using the bike and contact the company for a replacement or refund.
