NettoCollection recalls cribs for strangulation, entrapment dangers

New York-based NettoCollection is recalling about 400 of its cribs because pieces can separate from the side rails, creating a hazard of entrapment and strangulation for young children, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Tuesday.

The company has received three reports of side rails separating from the top rail. No injuries have been reported.

The recall applies to cribs with model numbers NC-137 and NC-140 and the date codes 9/03 and 02/04. The cribs were sold in furniture stores in the U.S. from October 2003 through June 2005 for about $1,350 US.

Consumers should stop using the crib and contact the company for replacement rails.
