Undeclared milk protein in sausage dogs

Canada's food watchdog is warning people with allergies to milk protein not to eat Ian’s Batter Dipped Turkey Sausage Dogs. The affected product may contain milk protein that is not declared on the label.

Consumption of this product may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in people who have allergies to milk protein.

Ian’s Batter Dipped Turkey Sausage Dogs, produced in the U.S., are sold frozen in a 224 gram package bearing UPC 7 49512 48665 9 and lot code 07137.

This product has been distributed in Ontario and Manitoba.

There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of this product.

The importer, Sunopta Food Distribution Group (Supreme Foods), based in Concord, Ont., is voluntarily recalling the affected product from the marketplace.
