Tool kits pulled for fire and shock dangers

Texas-based B&F System Inc. is withdrawing about 43,000 emergency tool kits because of a wiring problem with the booster cables that could pose a fire and shock hazard to users, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Thursday.
The recall applies to the following models:
- #MTHEK41, Yorkcraft, 41-piece SAE & Metric kit.
- #MTHEKSM, Yorkcraft, six-piece kit.
- #MTHEKREF, Yorkcraft, 15-piece kit.
- #MTHEK15, Yorkcraft, 15-piece kit.
- #MTEKIT2, Yorkcraft, Emergency Tool Kit.
No injuries have been reported.
The kits were sold at flea markets in the U.S. and through online retailers from June 2003 through May 2007 for between $5 and $45 US each.
Consumers should stop using the booster cables in the kits and contact the company for refunds.
