Stuffed toys sold with sleeping bags recalled because of choking hazard

About 1,500 stuffed horses and fairy dolls have been recalled because some parts may come off, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission says.
Distributed by Vermont-based Orvis Company, 220 stuffed horses and 1,300 stuffed fairy dolls sold with sleeping bags are being recalled. The plastic button eyes on the stuffed horse and the pompom nose on the fairy doll toy can easily detach, posing a choking hazard to young children.
Not included in the recall are stuffed horses with eyes directly embroidered on the plush fabric or stuffed unicorns that were also sold with the sleeping bags.
Made in China, the sleeping bags were sold with the stuffed animals through the Orvis Company mail-order catalogue and the firm’s website from September 2006 through December 2006 for about $70 US.
Consumers should immediately take these toys away from young children and contact the firm to obtain a refund or replacement horse and fairy doll. Consumers can continue to use the sleeping bags while waiting to receive replacement toys.
