Hammock stands are fall hazard

Hammock frames imported by Algoma Net Co. and manufactured by Danlong Industries Ltd. are being recalled after 28 reports of breaking foot brackets, which can cause users to fall to the ground.

Algoma is telling users of the approximately 3,000 hammock stands to stop using them immediately.

The recall includes stands sold between December 2006 and May 2007 with model numbers 6250, 6250BH and 6290W88B. The model number is at the top of the instruction sheet accompanying the hammock stand.

Owners should contact the company for instructions on returning the foot brackets for a free replacement. The recalled units should not be returned to the retailer. For questions and instructions, call the company at 1-800-800-7083 or visit its website.
