Coffee makers withdrawn from marketplace

Florida-based Atico International USA Inc. is withdrawing about 392,000 coffeemakers because they may catch fire, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Wednesday.
The company has received 14 reports of electrical failures including six incidents in which the coffeemaker caused minor property damage.
The recall affects the Signature Gourmet or Kitchen Gourmet units marked with the model number XQ-673B. The appliances were sold from May 2003 through July 2006 in Walgreens stores in the U.S. from August 2003 through December 2006 for between $10 and $16 US.
Consumers should stop using the coffeemakers and return them for a refund.
