Brake cylinder recalled from marketplace

About 200 brake cylinders on off-road motorcycles are being withdrawn because they may fail when cracked, putting the driver at risk of injury or death, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Wednesday.

No associated injuries or incidents have been reported.

The recall affects the 190 Radial Brake Master Cylinders marked with an "A" or "B" code. The cylinders were distributed by Illinois-based Magura USA.

The cylinders were sold through motorcycle dealers in the U.S., mail-order catalogues, and online retailers from August 2005 through May 2007 for about $420 US.

Consumers with the recalled product should stop using their motorcycles and contact Magura USA for a replacement.
