Pier 1 expands glassware recall for laceration hazard
- June 22, 2007 8:11 AM
- By Peter Hadzipetros
Pier 1 is expanding an earlier recall to include about 219,000 more glasses, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Thursday.
About 180,000 orange and red glasses were withdrawn on May 8 for cracking and breaking.
The company has received 21 reports of glasses cracking or breaking.
The recall applies to yellow and aquamarine tumblers, goblets and margarita glasses sold at Pier 1 stores in the U.S., on its website and from its catalogue from January to April 2007 for about $6 US.
Consumers should stop using the glasses and return them to the store for a refund.
