Seattle-based Nordstrom Inc. is recalling children's sandals and jackets because they pose safety hazards, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Thursday.
The company says jewel decorations on its Calypso Sandals can come loose, presenting a choking hazard to young children. The recall applies to 1,800 pairs of shoes sold in toddler and child sizes that sold in Nordstrom stores in the U.S. and through its website during February 2007 for about $27 US.
No associated injuries have been reported to the company.
About 1,900 Pine Peak Blues children's jackets are also being withdrawn. Young children could choke on zipper pulls that detach from the jacket, the CPSC said.
The company has learned of one incident in which a zipper pull came loose but no injuries were reported.
The jackets were sold through Nordstrom from November 2006 through April 2007 for about $35 US. Consumers should return the products to the company for a refund.
