Cannondale Bicycle Corp. is recalling about 6,700 mountain bicycles because they pose a fall hazard to users.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Wednesday the bicycles' forks can break during use. The company has received 15 reports of the bikes' forks breaking, including five incidents where users sustained of injuries.
The recall applies to the Lefty Speed Sl and the Lefty Speed DLR Forks. Consumers should check with the company to see if their model is included in the recall.
The bikes were sold from Cannondale dealers in the U.S. from June 2006 through May 2007 for between $1,600 and $6,500 US.
