About 2,000 Thermador ceramic cooktops are being recalled because they may turn on by itself, creating a fire hazard to user, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Thursday.
No incidents or injuries have been reported.
The products, made by California-based BSH Home Appliances Corp., were sold in stores across the U.S. from October 2006 through March 2007 for between $1,800 and $2,200 US.
The recall applies to units with the model numbers CIT302DS/01 and CIT362DS/01 with date codes between 8606 and 8612.
Consumers are advised to disconnect the cooktop when not being used and contact the company for a repair.
