Char-Broil withdraws gas grills for fire, burn hazard

- By Peter Hadzipetros
Char-Broil is recalling its two-burner gas grills because they may be lacking a proper heat shield, putting consumers at risk of fire and burn hazards, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Tuesday.
The recall applies to about 600 grills with the model number 463720407. The serial numbers on the recalled grills range from G305040611002821 to G305040611003420.
No incidents or injuries have been reported. The company has received five reports of consumers purchasing grills without the proper heat shield.
The grills were sold at Big Lots stores in the U.S. from January 2007 through March 2007 for about $115 - $130 US.
Consumers can contact the company with any questions at (866) 671-7988.
