Children's wooden puzzle recalled for choking danger

About 78,500 wooden puzzles are being pulled from the marketplace because they pose a choking hazard to young children, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Tuesday.

The recall applies to the "Sounds on the Farm" and the "Sounds on the Go" puzzles sold under the Puzzlebilities and Ryan's Room brands. The CPSC warns that children could choke on detachable knobs on the pieces.

The distributor has learned of 42 incidents in which the knobs detached from the puzzle pieces. No associated injuries have been reported.

The puzzles were sold at stores across the U.S. and through catalogue sales from June 2003 through February 2007 for about $16 US.

Consumers should contact the company for a replacement.
