Chanukah Oil Candles recalled for fire, burn danger
- April 5, 2007 3:24 PM
- By Peter Hadzipetros
Aviv Judaica is recalling about 9,000 Chanukah Oil Candles because they could burn uncontrollably and leak hot oil, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Thursday.
The company has received eight reports of the candles igniting and melting the outer plastic cups. No injuries have been reported.
The recall involves sets of 44 and 46 candles which were sold at Jewish specialty stores in the U.S. from November 2006 through December 2006 for between $15 and $25 US.
Consumers should return the candles to the retailer for a refund.
