Alta., B.C. sandwiches have undisclosed contents

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has recalled 16 kinds of sandwiches sold in Alberta and British Columbia because they contain egg, milk and soy that are not declared on the label.

The sandwiches, made by Mrs. Willman’s Baking Ltd. under the brand names Take Away Café and North Country Foods, have "best before" dates up to and including 07 MA 15 (May 15, 2007).

There have been no illnesses reported from eating the sandwiches, although CFIA has warned that the consequences could be serious or life-threatening for people who are allergic to egg, milk or soy proteins.

The affected sandwiches, sold under both brand names, include: 201-gram Chicken Club Sub; 210-gram Rib B-B-Q Submarine; 198-gram Double Cheese Burger; ¼ Pound Bacon Cheeseburger and 190-gram Egg Salad Wedge.

Other Take Away Café products include the 129-gram Cheese Burger; 237-gram Tuna Salad on Fancy Sub Bun; and 192-gram Chicken Salad Deli Sandwich.

Other North Country Food products include the 129-gram Single Cheese Burger, 237-gram Tuna Salad on Sub Bun and 192-gram Chicken Salad.
