Undeclared milk protein in certain Botticelli brand chocholate products

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is warning people with allergies to milk protein not to consume certain Botticelli brand chocolate products described below. These products may contain milk protein which is not declared on the label.
The following four Botticelli brand products are affected by this alert.

  • Dark Belgian Chocolate Liqueur Cups sold in a 114 g package bearing UPC 0 65082 99515 6.
  • No Sugar Added Dark Chocolate bar sold as a 40g bar bearing UPC 0 65082 33003 2.
  • Signature Premium European Dark Chocolate 70% Cocoa bar sold as a 100g bar bearing UPC 0 65082 32901 2.
  • Signature Premium European Dark Chocolate 70% Cocoa bar with Cranberry Pieces sold as a 100g bar bearing UPC 0 65082 32904 3.

All codes of these products are affected by this alert.

These products, made in British Columbia, may have been distributed nationally.

There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of these products, but there is the potential for a serious or life-threatening reaction in those with allergies to milk protein.

The CFIA is working with the manufacturer Dynamic Chocolates, Delta, British Columbia to have the affected products removed from the marketplace.
