Soy, egg, crab allergy alert issued over N.S. sandwiches

People with allergies to soy, egg and crab proteins are being warned not to eat certain sandwiches made by Paul's Food Factory brand and distributed in Nova Scotia.

The affected products contain soy, egg or crab proteins that are not declared on the label,
according to both the Sydney-based company.

The company's BBQ Pork Riblet (UPC 6 64028 00502 9) has undeclared soy, while the company's Sea Food Sandwich (UPC 6 64028 00114 4) has undeclared soy, egg and crab.

The alert affects all "Best Before" codes for these two products.

There have been no reported illnesses.

Paul's Food Factory is voluntarily recalling the affected products from the marketplace, while the Canadian Food Inspection Agency is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
