Rice cracker recall expanded

Canada's food watchdog has expanded an earlier recall of Japanese rice crackers to include three more products.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency says people with allergies to egg, fish, milk, sesame, soy and wheat proteins should avoid certain rice cracker products made by Sanko-Seiko. The recall has been expanded to include rice crackers with the following UPC numbers: 4 901626 037837, 4 901626 037509, 4 901626 015408 and 4 901626 085906.

The products were distributed in British Columbia. No illnesses have been reported.

Consumption of the products may trigger a serious or life-threatening reaction in people with milk, egg, fish, sesame, soy or wheat allergies.

Importer NTC Industrial Co. Inc. is voluntarily recalling the products from the marketplace and the CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
