About 13,000 Dewalt portable generators are being recalled because they pose an electric shock hazard, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Thursday.
The recall involves the Dewalt DG 2900 watt gasoline-powered generators with the date codes 200150 through 200635. Generators with an "R" stamped on the name plate are not included in the recall.
The generators were sold at hardware stores across the U.S. from December 2001 through November 2006 for between $900 and $1,000 US.
Consumers should contact Dewalt Industrial Tool Co. for an inspection and repair.
