Réno-Dépôt LED lights recalled for shock, fire hazards

Quebec's Réno-Dépôt is recalling LED Christmas lights because they may shock the user or pose a fire hazard, says the safety certification group CSA International.
Wiring on the lights may be exposed, putting the user at risk. There has been one report of a minor injury and three reports of minor property damage, CSA International says.
The lights involved in the recall are marked with a white label printed with the model number LED-PLE-18SB-YY-Z — the YY stands for the number of bulbs and the Z the colour. The lights were sold in sets of 25, 50 and 75 bulbs in a range of colours.
Réno-Dépôt stores sold about 16,000 lights between Oct. 3 and Nov. 29.
CSA International initially certified the light strings but said they were not manufactured in accordance with the group's requirements.
Consumers should stop using the light strings and contact the manufacturer at 1-877-501-6366 for more information.
