Remote-control helicopter toys recalled

About 1,600 remote-control helicopter toys are being recalled from the marketplace, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced on Monday.

The Dragonfly King HX-242 helicopter, which is also called the Micro R/C Helicopter, can overheat and catch fire, the CPSC says.

The manufacturer, Virginia-based ThinkGeek Inc., has learned of five incidents where the toys overheated but no fires or injuries have been reported.

The helicopters involved in the recall are marked with a label that reads “Champion HX242 Electric Power Helicopter.” The toys were sold on the ThinkGeek.com website during the month of November for about $40 US.

Consumers should stop using the toy and contact the company for a refund.
