Baby feeding spoons recalled for choking danger

About 33,000 BabyBjörn feeding spoons are being recalled, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Thursday.

The tips of the spoons may snap off, causing the user to choke. The company has received 11 reports of the spoon tips coming loose but no injuries have been reported.

The spoons are marked with the brand name BABYBJÖRN, and are about 16.5 centimetres long.

The spoons were sold in stores, and through catalogues and online sites from January 2001 through November 2006 for about $9 US each.

Consumers should stop using the spoons and contact the importer, BabySwede, for a refund or replacement.
