Toy keys recalled due to choking hazard
- November 2, 2006 4:12 PM
- By Peter Hadzipetros
About 275,000 toy keys are being recalled because they pose a choking hazard, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced.
The keys, manufactured by RC2, can crack and break off, putting young children at risk.
The company has received four reports of the keys cracking but no associated injuries have been reported.
Included in the recall are products called Shake 'n Jingle Keys, the Shake & Jingle Keys, My Jingle Keys and John Deere Real Keys. Keys marked with TE on the packaging are not included in the recall.
The keys were sold from August 2005 through October 2006. Consumers should stop using the toys and contact the company for a free replacement.
