Halloween cape recalled due to fire danger

About 120,000 Halloween capes are being recalled because they pose a fire hazard, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced.

Although a label on the packaging reads "Flame retardant PVC", the vinyl Creepy Cape costumes failed to meet flammability standards. No incidents or injuries have been reported.

The recall includes the 40-inch (102-cm) black vinyl capes were sold from August 2005 through October 2006 at Family Dollar stores across the U.S.

Consumers should stop using the cape and return it to the point of purchase for a refund.
