Canadians are being warned not to eat cooked ham and turkey products from an Ohio-based company that could be contaminated with listeria.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) says products from The Honey Baked Ham Company could be contaminated with listeria bacteria, which can cause high fever, severe headache, neck stiffness and nausea.
These products have been available to Canadians through internet and telephone catalogue sales, said the agency.
Affected products, which may not appear spoiled, include:
- Sliced & Glazed Fully Cooked Half Ham — six- to 11-pound packages with the establishment number EST. 15875 inside the USDA seal of inspection; Package codes between 6261 and 6310.
- Sliced & Glazed Fully Cooked Whole Ham — 12- to 16-pound packages with EST. 15875 inside the USDA seal of inspection; Package code between 6261 and 6310.
