Allergy Alert: Undeclared egg in frankfurters
- November 6, 2006 9:15 AM
- By Peter Hadzipetros
People with allergies to egg protein should not consume the product Corn-O-dog, a frankfurter on a stick, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency says.
Manufacturer Les Aliments Dang Ngoc Inc. failed to declare egg protein on its labels, the CFIA advises.
Included in the recall are the frankfurters sold in 900-gram packages with the UPC number 7 74981 80218 1.
The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the voluntary recall and is conducting an investigation. There have been no associated illnesses reported.
These products may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in people with egg protein allergies, the agency said.
