Protective mattress covers recalled for fire hazard
- October 19, 2006 4:32 PM
- By Peter Hadzipetros
About 37,000 Dux Interiors protective mattress covers are being recalled because they pose a fire hazard, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has advised.
The terrycloth covers do not meet government flammability standards and may cause burn injury to consumers if they are exposed to lit cigarettes.
No incidents of injuries have been reported.
The covers were sold at Dux-owned stores and other retail outlets from January 1999 through April 2006.
Consumers should stop using the product immediately and contact the company for more information.
