Light & Motion recalls bicycle light batteries due to fire and burn hazard
- October 17, 2006 2:07 PM
- By Peter Hadzipetros
About 1,700 ARC lithium ion bicycle light batteries are being voluntarily recalled, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Tuesday.
The batteries can overheat and pose a fire or burn hazard to consumers, the commission warned. No related incidents or injuries have been reported.
The recall involves batteries used with Light & Motion 2004 ARC Li-Ion HID lighting systems.
The product was sold at bicycle dealers from November 2003 through October 2004. Consumers should contact the company for a free replacement.
