Cookie Monster toys recalled for choking hazard

About 31,000 baby Cookie Monster plush toys are being recalled from the marketplace because they pose a choking hazard, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced.

A small fabric cookie attached to the toy's hand can be removed and swallowed by young children, the commission said.

No associated injuries or incidents have been reported to the company.

The toy was packaged with some Sesame Street DVDs titled "Sesame Beginnings," and is labelled for children ages six months and older.

The toy was sold at Wal-Mart stores from March 2006 to July 2006.

Consumers should snip the cookie from the toy's hand and dispose of it immediately.
