Climbing equipment recalled from the marketplace
- October 18, 2006 3:06 PM
- By Peter Hadzipetros
Petzl America is voluntarily recalling its carabiner climbing tools because they pose a fall hazard, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced.
About 8,000 carabiners were sold between March and July 2006.
The safety mechanism on the carabiner can fail, causing the device to unlock.
No injuries or incidents have been reported to the company.
Consumers should stop using the product immediately and contact the company for more information.
