Anti-cavity dental product contaminated with mould: Health Canada

An anti-cavity dental product is being recalled from the marketplace after a specific lot was found to be contaminated with mould, Health Canada has advised.

Neutragel is used by diabetics, patients undergoing chemotherapy treatment and people with weakened immune systems or dry mouths. The sodium fluoride gel may be applied in a dental office or at home.

Consumers should stop using the product immediately and contact their physician or dentist if they experience fever, oral lesions or redness of the gums after using the recalled product.

Included in the recall are products with a lot number of 60372 with an expiry date of March 2008. The Drug Identification Number for Neutragel is 01922017.
