Candie’s hooded sweatshirts recalled due to strangulation hazard

About 4,500 Candie’s children’s hoodie sweatshirts with drawstrings are being recalled because they pose a strangulation hazard, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced.

The sweatshirts, which have a string pulled through the hood, were manufactured the New York-based Cayre Group. They were sold at Kohl’s department stores and Kohls.com from August 2006 through September 2006 for between $20 US and $36 US.

No incidents or injuries have been reported.

Consumers are advised to remove the drawstrings from the sweatshirts and contact the Cayre Group to return the merchandise for a refund.
