Arctic Cat Inc. recalls snowmobiles
- September 19, 2006 2:47 PM
- By Peter Hadzipetros
Arctic Cat is recalling about 50,500 snowmobiles because of a steering control hazard, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has advised.
The steering shaft on select Arctic Cat models can fail, causing a loss of steering control.
The company has received 42 reports of loss of steering control on the recalled vehicles but no injuries have been reported.
The snowmobiles were sold worldwide from May 2001 through Aprils 2006 for between $6,500 and $9,000 US.
Consumers should stop using the recalled vehicles immediately and contact Arctic Cat to schedule a free repair.
Contact the Arctic Cat website or the U.S. CPSC website for a full list of the model affected.
