Genetically engineered rice released in U.S.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency advises that a line of genetically engineered rice was unintentionally released in long grain rice packaged for the United States. There is no evidence the rice has been imported into Canada. The government of Canada continues to work with the United States Department of Agriculture to monitor distribution of the product.
