'Insatiable Critic' cut from magazine

New York magazine on Thursday announced the wobbly economy was forcing the publication to scale back its team of restaurant critics.
Long-time contributor Gael Greene, who has been writing for New York since 1968, will have her final column published in next week's edition.
"In a tightening economy, our company is simply no longer able to support four separate restaurant critics; we wish Gael nothing but the best in her many successful endeavors," the magazine said in a statement.
Three other critics will continue to write for the magazine.
Greene, who famously detailed her glamourous life as a food critic in her 2006 memoir titled Insatiable: Tales from a Life of Delicious Excess, gained influence with her lavish, saucy reviews in which she blended the personal with the professional. One cheeky review — written while she was carrying on an affair with the head chef of the renowned Le Cirque — was topped with the headline "I Love Le Cirque; But Can I Be Trusted?"
