The old adage that only time can soothe a broken heart is now being amended to include the healing power of premium special interest rates.
South Korea's Nonghyup Bank has created a special deal for soldiers who, while completing mandatory military service, have been dumped by their mates.
Jilted troops with evidence of a "Dear John" letter or email are eligible to receive better rates, waived service fees and a 0.3 percentage point premium.
All men in Korea must complete a two-year term in the military.
The new promotion, which launched on Monday, will be offered through September.
