Lederhosen for the modern man
- April 2, 2007 4:17 PM
- By Commodities
A Munich-based clothing company is hoping its high-tech lederhosen – traditional Bavarian leather shorts with braces – will strike a chord with cutting-edge German yodelers.
They are outfitted with a MP3 player and a cellphone, with a microphone tucked into the suspender straps.
Wearers can control the portable music player using the controls embedded into a matching jacket.
Clothier Lodenfrey is hoping on the pants to become popular with consumers who frequent Bavarian beer gardens, many of which are Wi-Fi enabled.
The pants were unveiled at Germany's technology trade show CeBit in late March.
