Valentines can visit their valentines this year at no cost, thanks to an airline promotion.
WestJet is offering customers with the last name Valentine two complementary one-way flights anywhere in Canada for travel on Feb. 14. The offer does not cover taxes and surcharges.
"We just want to share Valentine's Day with everybody and give them an opportunity to spend some time with a loved one," WestJet spokeswoman Gillian Bentley said. The company will begin accepting reservations next week, she said.
There are more than 300 listings for people with the family name Valentine on Canada411.
Bentley said she expects many Canadians will take advantage of the offer.
"We usually get a pretty good response. Lots of people are quite happy to take the day off work if they possibly can and book their free flight."
The Calgary-based airline has offered similar holiday-themed promotions to people with select last names, including a Valentine's promotion that offered complementary flights to people with the surnames Love and Heart.
