Credit card company clears cat's application

A Melbourne cat, deemed a low credit risk, has been issued a Visa card with a respectable $4,200 US spending limit after his owner submitted an application in her pet's name.
Katherine Campbell filled out the form using the cat's name, Messiah, his age and address. The Bank of Queensland initially requested identification from Messiah, but later approved the account, without receiving any ID.
"I just couldn't believe it. People need to be aware of this and banks need to have better security," Campbell told local media on Thursday.
The bank issued an apology, saying the card should never have been issued.
