A beefy beer for man's best friend

Dog biscuits and squeaky toys weren't reward enough for one Dutch pet-shop owner who wanted to brew up a beef beer for her pet Weimaraners.
"Once a year we go to Austria to hunt with our dogs, and at the end of the day we sit on the veranda and drink a beer," said Terrie Berenden. "So we thought, my dog also has earned it."
Berenden consigned a local brewery to create the non-alcoholic beer, made of beef extract and malt. The beer, which has been branded Kwispelbier – the Dutch word for wagging a tail – retails for about $2 US a bottle. Dutch retailers began stocking the product, touted as "a beer for your best friend," last week.
