Bullying & Attawapiskat Update
Another bullied teen commits suicide - after car accidents, it's the top cause of death for Canadian teens. Charest says Quebec will review it's policy following Marjorie Raymond's suicide. This week Ontario tabled legislation to permanently expel bullies from schools. Years ago, Edmonton was the first Canadian city to make bullying illegal and to issue tickets. But are laws really the way to stop nasty kids from victimizing others?
Plus, after a week of finger pointing and outrage over the deplorable conditions on the James Bay reserve of Attawapiskat, Prime Minister Stephen Harper sat down today with Shawn Atleo, the national chief of the Assembly of First Nations. While they discussed the relationship between the First Nations community and federal crown and how to improve the situation there, we check in with an Attawapiskat resident about how the community is coping.
