Here's what we're working on for tonight's show.

The U.S. Senate approves the debt deal and Barack Obama dodges an economic crisis. But, at what cost? And we'll also take a look at the woman who stole the show. Gabrielle Giffords, the U.S. Representative, made headlines last year when she was shot in the head during a rally in Arizona. This weekend she made her return to the house and captured the room. Tonight we'll talk to the man who helped save her life.

And new fears in Japan. Record high radiation is being detected at the Fukushima nuclear complex. Tokyo Electric Power said over 10,000 millisieverts per hour had been detected at the bottom of the exhaust pipe in between two reactors. That's the highest level detected since March when the quake and tsunami disabled the plant. Will we ever know the full scale of this crisis?

And, the UN says the situation in Somalia is spinning out of control. Tonight you'll meet a man from Somalia who has been in Canada since 1992 and wants to go back to help those devastated by the famine.

How to help: Somalia relief.

Mark Kelley is away tonight. Paul Hunter is hosting and will have a feature interview with Tim Robbins about breaking into the music world.

Tune in tonight at 8 p.m. ET on CBC NN.
