Tonight we're bringing you a special edition of Connect.  Barack Obama addresses the nation about the fate of the U.S. mission in Afghanistan. We'll carry Obama's address live and bring you comprehensive analysis.

We'll also take a look back at the American mission. The number of troops on the ground has increased drastically in the last ten years, but so has the death toll and the cost of the mission. A former U.S. soldier gives us his take.

Plus, Mark is in Afghanistan, with the view from there.  Canadian troops are also getting ready to come home.  Mark will have reaction to Obama's address, and look ahead to his special coverage LIVE from Afghanistan next week on Connect.

And there's another part of the Afghanistan mission that's making news tonight:  the federal government released thousands of long-awaited classified documents  related to the treatment of detainees in that country.  Evan Solomon will break it down for us.

Reshmi Nair is hosting the show. Join us at 8 p.m. ET on CBC NN.
