The Power of Nature
Thousands of people are evacuating their homes as wildfires tear through the small Alberta town of Slave Lake. The flames were unexpected and spread at lightening speed. Residents were told to make their way to parking lots and beaches to keep out of harms way. Tonight, we check in with someone who fled, and someone who is staying put.
Plus, this weekend the floodgates opened in Portage la Prairie. So far things are going according to plan. Nick Purdon makes his way back to one of the '150' -- the 150 people who were told their homes would be flooded to save others.
And also this weekend, officials in Louisiana opened the Morganza Spillway. U.S. President Barack Obama arrived today to survey the damage. We're on the ground tonight.
