Earlier today, in a rare TV appearance, Japan's 77-year-old Emperor Akihito urged citizens to pull together. The emperor expressed his condolences to those affected by the earthquake and said it is important that people take care of each other in the difficult days ahead. At present, the number missing or dead people in Japan is up to 13,000.
