International Women's Day, Connect Style
Tonight, we talk women. For 99 years we've been stopping one day each year to draw attention to the plight of women. Is it working?
The great Nicholas Kristoff has been trying to show the world that if you fix the lives of women, you'll fix the problems of the world. The New York Times columnist joins us tonight to talk about the power of women.
And what about here at home? Does the western world still need a day to stress the importance of women's issues? Touchy debate, and we'll get in the middle of it.
Also, hello 2010. Director Kathryn Bigelow made history last night. She became the first woman to win Best Director. So what's it like to be a 'first'? Tune in and we'll tell you.
Now if you were watching the Oscars last night you know The Hurt Locker cleaned up. A beautiful ending to a great story. But the reality is, it's not the end of the story. So where do things stand for Iraq? The elections this weekend came with violence and the war is not over yet. We do a reality check on Iraq.
Tune in tonight at 8 p.m. ET on CBC NN.
